BIO

Hi.  I'm Sara.  I'm a photographer and the main gal for Growing Tree Photography.

I went to college to become a psychologist.  I came out a photographer and an artist. Photography has given me many things, but what I appreciate the most is that it provided me with a new way to communicate: a language without words.

Over the years my photographic projects have varied.  My ultimate goal, though, has remained the same: find something beautiful, something special.  And when I find it, I capture it.  For keeps.

This is what photography does for me.  This is what I can do for you.  The goal of Growing Tree Photography is to celebrate your love and make it tangible for you; so that you can have it.  For keeps.

All my best,

Sara

Engagement Session at Sherwood Island State Park, CT~ Jessica and Keith

You know what makes me happy? Pretty light. You know what makes me REALLY happy? Pretty light and an adorable couple in love. This engagement session with Jessica and Keith was all about that. And I’m pretty psyched about it.

During the session, as I was on a high from working with a number of great people that week, I said to Jessica, “I don’t know what it is, but my couples are always so relaxed, comfortable, and connected with one another.  I don’t know how I get so lucky.” And then Jessica surprised me with one of the sweetest compliments ever. She said, “Maybe it’s you!”  ……..Wow. That really surprised me, yet made me feel so GOOD! So thank you Jessica for that. You really made my day!

Now on to the images….

And she has a dimple! Too much:)

These next two make my heart happy.

Vintage Engagement Session in Rural CT- Katie and Bryan

Are you ready to see a super cute vintage engagement session?! Oh man, I love this session. Katie found her dress at Tova’s Vintage Shop in Old Saybrook, CT. She also chose the location, an old herb farm in Coventry called Caprilands. You gotta love it when your clients scout locations for you! I knew it was going to be a great location, however what I didn’t know was that there may or may not be a ghost dog on property!! Ya, I heard it barking for sure when I was walking around checking out the property. And didn’t think anything of it until Katie asked me if I saw it. “No, why?” “Oh…. well, there is a legend about a ghost dog living here, she said.” “Oh really?!” (Awesome).

Once I started photographing Katie and Bryan, however, all worries of ghost dog subsided. It was a great session. They were adorable and so sweet together. I loved Katie’s vintage blue dress and I couldn’t get over her striking features! Bryan, was as calm and relaxed as can be. And the Caprilands Herb Farm was an awesome location. I’m so glad to hear that there are people working bring it back to life. Thank you both for a great session. I am so excited for your wedding this weekend at Wickham Park and the Bond Ballroom!!

Now onto the photos….
