BIO

Hi.  I'm Sara.  I'm a photographer and the main gal for Growing Tree Photography.

I went to college to become a psychologist.  I came out a photographer and an artist. Photography has given me many things, but what I appreciate the most is that it provided me with a new way to communicate: a language without words.

Over the years my photographic projects have varied.  My ultimate goal, though, has remained the same: find something beautiful, something special.  And when I find it, I capture it.  For keeps.

This is what photography does for me.  This is what I can do for you.  The goal of Growing Tree Photography is to celebrate your love and make it tangible for you; so that you can have it.  For keeps.

All my best,

Sara

Learning is good….

Recently I had the pleasure of attending Justin and Mary Marantz’s ‘Walk Thru a Wedding’ Workshop. I’m always on the lookout for ways to improve my craft as a photographer, so when I heard that I could have a chance to run through the wedding day with J&M, I said, “Yes, please!”

It was such a pleasure to hear J&M’s take on many of the questions that brew around in my head. I came home inspired and ready to ask myself some big questions about my business. Thank you Justin and Mary for opening your hearts and minds to us, sharing your struggles and your successes, and inspiring me with some fresh, new ideas! Thanks also to Julia and Alicia who crafted the beautiful details and Candace, Josh, Max, and Katie for being such patient models as well as Andrea of MakeUp by DiLieto with hair accessories by Larissa Lake.

Although my focus of the workshop was to listen, I did take the opportunity to try out some of my new skills. And now on to some images….

Alicia… Really?! You aren’t going to take off those heals to climb that ladder? Wow. I was a little nervous about it, but obviously not enough to abstain from photographing it.

Mr. Max. You are just too adorable. Really.
